1. The RayV Connectivity Tester – Overview:

The RayV Connectivity Tester is a software client that assesses whether the broadcaster machine you have allocated for installing of the RayV broadcaster and broadcasting your TV channel meets the connectivity requirements as defined by RayV (please refer to FAQ 2 and FAQ 5 for these requirements).

The tool performs the following:

  • Verifies that the TCP and UDP ports required for connecting to the RayV grid are open.
  • Measures the actual upload bandwidth connected to the Broadcaster machine to ensure it will allow broadcasting in any of the video qualities: High/Normal/Efficient.

2. System requirements for running the tester application:

  • Install and run the RayV Connectivity Tester client on the same machine that you'll use to broadcast (i.e., for RayV Broadcaster installation and for live TV broadcasting). Please refer to FAQ 1 for the minimum hardware requirements for the RayV Broadcaster machine).
  • This machine should be connected to the upload bandwidth that will be allocated for broadcasting with RayV Broadcaster.

3. System requirements for running the tester application:

  • Download and install the RayV Connectivity Tester application .
  • After installation, run the Tester: Go to Start -> All Programs -> RayV Connectivity Tester, choose ‘RayV Connectivity Tester’, and click "Start" to begin test.
  • The RayV Connectivity Tester application will generate the report within a minute.
  • The report with the test results will be opened in Internet Explorer showing if the test has passed or failed.
  • If the test has failed – the report will provide some recommended troubleshooting.
  • If the test has passed – your connectivity requirements are confirmed and you will be able to begin broadcasting. Good luck!
